The True Spirit of CHRISTmas!

ding... dong...

Christmas is right around the corner.. and everybody seems to be very busy to do their last minute shopping. It wonders me, then, how far each one of us do know about the essence of this festive season. Is it about having new clothes & toys? or about giving & receiving gifts & cards? How do we celebrate CHRISTmas?

I remember when i was a child (me gatas pa po sa labi..LOL) that i would prefer not to attend to CHRISTmas parties if i have no new dresses on, if my gift wasn't as good and big as the others, and stuffs like that (u'know). I missed those days of me hanging my pair of socks on our window and wait for santa to sneak in and drop me something.;) These are some of the few things why many of us would like to be kids (at heart) forever - no worries.. no fears.. at walang ka pressure-pressure!! It makes reminscing our childhood days a whole lot of fun.

Merry CHRISTmas

I also used to attend simbang-gabi and hoped to complete this so-called 9 mornings (ALWAYS failing at that.. grrrr!) coz according to matatanda all your wishes will be granted if you did so. Is it really is it? Or just one of the elders' childish excuses (or whatever you may call it) so we would wake up that early in the morning with them, and go to church with them? Looking around I saw the faces of the faithful and the hopeful ones.. some are smiling and some are not. (some still have morning glories! ahihihi) You could also hear people singing and some just prefer not to.. some are just loittering around...

Suddenly, something popped up into my mind.. something is missing.. something's really lacking.. As I
try to discern what God had been whispering to my ears, made me think and ask myself, "why the earth I got this just now?". It made me realize one thing... if only our elders taught us the right information (and avoid those childish excuses) at an early age, things would have been so different then...

Should I be doing something?

It was never been too late, anyway. Why don't we try to amend the tradition (which often lead to misconcepcions)? It will be our call. A call for a change - in letting the lost souls and the confused see things differently. Let us share, especially to the young hearts and minds, that the true spirit of christmas isn't just about those fancy things. Giving gifts are just a few reminders of giving and sharing love to one another. Just like what He did for us - the Son of God made man through Jesus. Remind ourselves that CHRISTmas is all about HIM. And He is the reason for this season.. His coming...:) *HRH is making a difference*

**HRH winks**
"CARE DEEPLY,
GIVE FREELY,
THINK KINDLY,
ACT GREATLY,
AND BE AT PEACE WITH THE WORLD.
THIS IS THE TRUE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS!
and MAY THE HOLY INFANT TOUCH AND BLESS YOUR HEART!"

Heart over Head? or Head over Heart?

Follow your heart, as they say. Seeking advices from the people closest to you, we may hear them telling us to do what our heart desires.

But at some point in our lives, we may encounter something that breaks through it. We were often confronted with situations where battles between affairs of the heart and decisions of the head are ever present. Much to our dismay, the conflict between these two is inevitable. Side by side, it goes on.

I had terrible insomnia attacks for days now, and depression is eating me alive! This major career(?) move in life requires BIG thinking, I must say. Did you ever find yourself in a situation wherein what you enjoy most doing doesn't conform to the standards of the society? Standards which are deemed to be the best and perfect (well, for most human minds) - and that we must act and follow accordingly. But hey, in doing so, we aren't happy at all, are we? This is what's killing me inside. Life is so not black & white... *HRH sighs*

Mind or feelings? What d'u guys think? *HRH also thinks*
